HEDGE END

Welcome to Raspberries.

Our Raspberries room at Hedge End is a bright and engaging space where children continue to build confidence, independence and a growing sense of curiosity.

With a balance of structured activities and free play, children are supported to explore new ideas, develop communication skills and feel comfortable expressing themselves. Our team provides consistent support so each child feels understood, encouraged and ready to take the next step.

ACTIVE LEARNING IN THE RASPBERRIES ROOM

Encouraging curiosity and confidence.

The Raspberries room is designed to support children as they become more independent in their play and learning.

Different areas of the room invite children to explore, create and problem-solve, helping them develop important skills through hands-on experiences. Whether working together or playing independently, children are given the space to think, try and discover.

Construction area

Children can build, stack and experiment with different materials, developing coordination, concentration and early problem-solving skills.

Small world play

Imaginative play is supported through figures, vehicles and themed setups, encouraging storytelling and creativity.

Mark-making and early maths

Opportunities for drawing, counting and recognising patterns help support early writing and number awareness in a relaxed way.

Role-play and dressing up

Children explore different roles and situations, building confidence, communication and social understanding.

Quiet reading spaces

A calm area for books and quiet moments helps children slow down, focus and develop a growing interest in stories.

Sensory experiences

Children can explore a range of materials and textures in a space designed to support focus, calm and sensory development.

SUPPORTING THE NEXT STEP

Preparing for what comes next.

As children grow in confidence, we begin to gently prepare them for their move to the Elderberries room.

We support this transition at a pace that suits each child, helping them feel familiar with new routines and environments. Our team works closely with families to ensure children feel ready, supported and confident as they move forward.

OUTDOOR EXPLORATION FOR RASPBERRIES

Learning beyond the classroom.

Children in Raspberries enjoy daily access to outdoor spaces, where they can move freely and explore in a natural environment.

With a strong indoor to outdoor flow, children can follow their interests, whether that’s active play, creative exploration or time spent discovering the world around them. Outdoor play supports physical development, confidence and a sense of independence.
