Our Strawberries room at Hedge End is a lively and supportive space where babies and toddlers can begin to grow in confidence and independence.
The environment is carefully set up to encourage movement, communication and exploration, with activities that reflect each stage of development.
Our team takes time to understand each child, offering reassurance and consistency so they feel settled, supported and ready to take on new experiences.

The Strawberries room at Hedge End offers a variety of spaces where children can explore, make choices and develop new skills through play.
From role play areas to quieter corners, the environment supports both active learning and calm moments. Children are encouraged to follow their interests, with support from the team to guide and extend their play.
BUILDING SOCIAL CONFIDENCE
Learning alongside others.
At this stage, children begin to form early friendships and develop an awareness of those around them.
Through shared play, they learn how to take turns, communicate and play alongside others. Being part of a mixed environment also allows them to observe and learn from both younger and older children.
Transitions are introduced gradually, with support from the team to ensure each child feels comfortable and ready.
OUTDOOR PLAY AND DISCOVERY FOR STRAWBERRIES
Learning through movement and fresh air.
Our Strawberries at Hedge End spend time outside each day, with access to a dedicated garden space where they can move freely, explore and build confidence.
The environment encourages active play, from climbing and balancing to imaginative games and sensory experiences. As they grow in confidence, children are introduced to larger outdoor areas, giving them more space to explore and interact.
Time outside supports both physical development and a growing sense of independence.
